Pharmacy PGD Providers

best pgd provider

There are several PGD providers who can author, publish and distribute PGDs in the UK. They often differ in their quality and support that they offer. The goal of the HubNet.io and Voyager Medical is to offer unrivalled quality, support and marketing for services enabled by our authoring multidisciplinary team. The key qualities we believe a quality PGD provider should have are...

What to look for in a PGD provider?

  • Does the company provide clinical support? Is this via phone or by email? It is best to have phone support from a professional who is of the same profession as those using the PGD.
  • Does the support come from prescribers who can issue PSDs? This is often useful if patients fall outside of the inclusion and exclusions stated on the PGD.
  • Does the company offer out of hours support on a weekend? Support should match your organisation's main operations time and be able to scale up in times of high demand.
  • Does the company provide prescribing support? Some professionals you employ maybe prescribing pharmacists or nurses, PGD providers can offer excellent specialist prescriber support.
  • Does the providers PGDs meet the requirements of the best practice NICE Guidance? Most notably: the name and signature (which may be an electronic signature) of the health professional supplying or administering the medicine.
  • Are the PGD locked to the location or are they untethered? Traditionally, PGDs are proprietary to the healthcare professional using the PGD and the location in which it is used.
  • Variety of PGDs. This may be the most important differentiator of all, medicines has potential liability associated with them, some medicines are of higher risk than others. PGD providers that provide every type of PGD may not be the best fit for an organisation which would like to limit their risk. The current PGD roster on the hubnet.io includes:
